A PARADIGM SHIFT...

Individuals in the 21st century are faced with many more challenges than ever before. Markets are more volatile, information overwhelmingly plentiful, complex and biased. Globalization, outsourcing and the move to a digital world, have created a new paradigm for employment and investment. Gone are the days, for most people, of the long-term career with a single employer complete with a life pension. Giganomics is becoming the norm. In a phenomenon referred to as "The Great Risk Shift", responsibility has been squarely shifted to the shoulders of the individual, leaving individuals to fend for themselves. With that, we also think the 21st century to be the golden age not of a country or region as many believe, but of the individuals, organizations and institutions that will provide the leadership and create the new structures, economic enterprises and social networks needed to address this new reality. Globalization and a "Flat World" have changed the way the world works. The economic system is now both Open and Modular. The ability to communicate, collaborate and innovate has never been greater. Everything is being sliced and diced and repriced to provide new products and services and and fill new market niches. This is evolution. While the possibilities are boundless, the dislocations can be disastrous. For many and in many places, wealth is being created at a staggering pace, while others are going out of business and losing their jobs. Many have some financial finesse - indeed many have extraordinary professional and financial skills but are not focused on their finances by interest, inclination or simply time. How you handle the challenge is up to you. You can ignore it, react to it, or deal with it.
